| Nostalgia has a future…………E Coudray's new fragrances have recently been added to the luxurious Catalogue. The packaging has been modernised, though remaining faithful to the Coudray spirit - the Eau de Toilette bottle, inspired by a house art deco model, is now more slender and decorated with engraved floral arabesques. The Bath and Body range has been enriched with new fragrances, but the products retain the quality and exceptional fragrances that have delighted women since 1822 during the reign of Louis XVIII when Dr Edmond Coudray, Chemist, started to supply luxurious EDT, creams, soaps, salves and pomades to the greatest crowned heads in Europe, amongst whom was Queen Victoria. His boutique became a rendezvous for The Imperial Family of France, The Marshalls of the Empire and the new French nobility. Dr Coudray was amongst the five greatest perfume makers of 19th Century including Houbigant and Guerlain. Upon his death in 1860, the company continued under his son in law who never changed the name and remained true to the founding principles of tradition, quality and refinement. Into 20th Century whilst continuing the tradition of fine perfumery with its EDT it successfully, in 1970, introduced the innovative bath concept with beautiful textures and fragrances thus entering onto its path of immortality and allowing women to use fragrance as freely as they wished…………. |
